There are plenty of anime Mech fan sites around. Don't really know how useful they'd be but I'm sure they'd be a great source of inspiration. www.mahq.net/ - is one of them

I watched it twice and then youtube downloaded it... Discovered it via Google. I'm also downloading the game ... it's probably gonna suck but it'll be fun...

The last link is comprised of multipedal mechs. ;D
Yeah, agree with you on the shields. Any idea how big these things are? They look about an inch high (mechsuit sized) to me, but I'm not sure.

Based on scenery in background, the normal footsoldiers looks like 40k size, or a bit larger. Maybe nid warrior size or so? The ones on round bases are about double their size I think, so they'd make pretty decent mediums or so...
Bipedal, multipedal, such nitpickiness!

Well, that's 50 cogs of nitpickiness, so... I've seen a couple of those Heavy Gear mechs next to Tau battlesuits, actually, so I'm guessing at least some of them are that sort of size (about Warrior size - light mechs as far as DoS goes). Whether those are the larger or the smaller though, I don't know.

Infinity, an existing tabletop game, includes mechs. They look awesome, but way overpriced. And if you've seen the packaging, big waste of space, too. Nice to look at, though. Would be cool if you had the money to waste.

warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115397Links to a lot of Gundam miniatures including several good mecha (the 6" mobile suit in the first lot of pics is an excellent superheavy basis methinks). The third post's mech would be an excellent Cath basis, Twin...

Those mechs are really nice! The Armored Core link had some real gems. A tad too fat... actually more than a tad. I have actually been looking at this slightly slimmer mech, bent into a fitting pose, kitted out with some sturdier armour, and hunched over with three huge barrels on it's back... that's more alienesque ;D

I did a UK search for Armoured Core miniatures, so as to hopefully avoid the horrendous shipping. (Not so good for you Twin, although UK->Europe shipping's still better than America->Europe.) Guess what I found on Play.com? One of the most beautiful 6" soon to be super heavies ever...There's links to another two in there as well - the Hogire's also 6" tall and pretty cool, just not as beautiful, and the other one is over 8", more expensive, not quite as nice as the other two, but it does transform into a flyer. Shame Vadria Hennell's ship is a medium. ;D This page, from Forbidden Planet, also has a few (scroll down a little in the list of all products) and their Fascinator's cheaper than Play.com's. Wonder if the shop in Cardiff has any in stock... Two more here. Three VERY nice (and cheap!) ones here. Me, out, for now!
